CG-International launches its Stakeholder Engagement Event Series in Albania

On 9 October 2026, the CG-International project held its first Stakeholder Engagement Event in Tirana, Albania, hosted by project partner Tirana College of Technology (TCT).

The event marked the beginning of a series of stakeholder events that will take place across the three Western Balkan countries involved in CG-International. Following the event in Albania, the project will continue the dialogue with local and national stakeholders in Montenegro in early November, before the final Stakeholder Engagement Event takes place in Kosovo at the end of November.

These events represent an important step in the final phase of CG-International: bringing the project’s work and results beyond the consortium and creating opportunities for education professionals, public authorities, employers and other relevant stakeholders to discuss the future of Career Guidance in their national and local contexts.

Bringing together Career Guidance stakeholders from across Albania

The event in Tirana brought together participants from different parts of Albania, including career guidance coordinators, school principals and teachers, representatives of local education authorities, the Career Office of Tirana Municipality, the Tirana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, higher education institutions and other professionals working in education and Career Guidance.

The meeting created a space to share experiences, good practices and challenges related to Career Guidance and to reflect on how different actors can work together to better support learners in making informed choices about their education, training and professional futures.

The discussions highlighted the importance of seeing Career Guidance as a shared responsibility, involving not only dedicated coordinators but also teachers, school leaders, families, universities, employers, public institutions and other actors connected to education and the labour market.

From the CG-International experience to TCT’s Career Guidance Strategy

A central part of the event was dedicated to the Career Guidance Strategy developed by TCT within CG-International.

The Strategy builds on the work carried out throughout the project, including research and analysis, the Career Guidance Experts Course, exchanges with European partners and the international study visits. It aims to establish a coordinated Career Guidance system within the institution, strengthen staff capacity, improve student employability and reinforce cooperation with employers and other external stakeholders.

During the event, TCT presented the process behind the development of the Strategy and discussed its main objectives and planned actions with participants.

This opened a wider conversation about the role of Career Guidance within educational institutions and the challenges currently faced by professionals working directly with learners.

Participants highlighted, among other aspects, the importance of introducing Career Guidance from an earlier age, strengthening cooperation between schools and higher education institutions, involving parents more actively in the guidance process, and building closer links between education and the labour market. The discussion also pointed to the need for continued professional development and adequate resources for those responsible for Career Guidance.

Sharing CG-International results with a wider community

Alongside the discussion, participants had the opportunity to explore some of the main results developed through CG-International.

TCT presented the CG-International Learning Platform and Career Guidance Experts Course, guiding participants through the available resources and how they can be used in their work. Participants were also able to register directly during the event, helping to extend the use of the project’s resources to Career Guidance professionals beyond the project partnership.

The exchange also generated interest in continuing cooperation beyond the event, particularly around joint Career Guidance activities, stronger links between education and employers, exchange of practices and future collaborative initiatives.

From stakeholder dialogue to the next steps

The discussion in Tirana will not end with the event. The feedback, needs and recommendations shared by participants will provide valuable input for the development of the CG-International Policy Recommendations for Albania.

This is one of the key purposes of the Stakeholder Engagement Events: connecting the work already carried out by the project with the perspectives of professionals, institutions and organisations working directly in the field, and using their input to support the project’s final results.

Albania has opened this final round of stakeholder dialogue, but the conversation is only beginning. In November, CG-International will continue with the Stakeholder Engagement Event in Montenegro, followed by the Kosovo event at the end of the month.

Together, the three events will bring different national perspectives into the final phase of the project and contribute to a shared objective: strengthening Career Guidance systems and cooperation across the Western Balkans.
